Amy is up for a challenge

I am a long-time dog owner who had recently started traveling much more and for longer periods of time. In the past I had relied on friends/family to watch our pets and house when we were gone, but realized I and they needed a better solution. My older labradoodle, Saber, suffered from separation anxiety and it got worse as he got older. My younger miniature poodle, Fido, did fine with short-term 'stay-cations' at a friend's house, but I couldn't continue using that source especially for longer (3-8 wks) durations.

Amy was the answer for all my issues! She initially came to me as a dog sitter, but with her training and background, she was able to work with Saber and get him through his anxiety in a way that I know our other sitters had not been able to do. We were used to coming home to carpet stains from vomit, intestinal issues, torn up toys and other destroyed items. Amy made sure Saber and Fido were just as loved, cared for and taken care of as if we had been there ourselves (probably better, actually, ha!). Saber also was a reactive dog. He REALLY wanted to meet people and dogs as soon as he saw them. Since he was 65 lbs, that involved a lot of pulling and lunging, not to mention barking. He had a very deep, intimidating bark, but he was a softy at heart. Amy spent her time working with him on his reactions and how to properly greet people/dogs. He was making progress! We always received pictures of our guys out on walks, or playing in the house and even videos if they were doing something particularly funny.

We lost Saber in February of 2024 and I was truly touched to get a beautiful sympathy card and picture of Saber from Amy. We had no plans to get another dog, at least not for a few more years, but we ended up with a 10 month-old goldendoodle rescue, Carina, later that year. She came to us with abandonment issues and Amy was right there to help us work on those right away. She HATED being crated, but also could not be trusted alone in the house, yikes! Following Amy's directions, she now gets in her crate without a battle and without endless barking! Our next mission for Amy is getting Carina to stop pestering our cats. I know she is up to the challenge!

Our vet noticed a difference

Amy was so helpful with training our dog, Teddy. Prior to training, Teddy would lose his mind when his harness came out. It caused so much stress and frustration. Now he calmly sits when it's time to put his harness on! It makes going out much more pleasurable. Even our vet noticed a difference! Amy also gave us ideas to combat boredom and provide enrichment. Amy goes above and beyond

Working with Amy has been a game-changer for me and my leash-reactive dog. From our first session, it was clear that she is highly experienced and genuinely cares about helping us succeed. Kind and knowledgeable

My dog Odie and I took a fantastic nose work class with Amy! Amy is well-spoken, kind, and knowledgeable. She was great at helping my husband work through things with our dog when Odie was struggling to find the scent and becoming frustrated. The nose work setups in various parts of the building for variety was fun, and fantastic for helping my dog generalize outside of the training space! My dog is a birch sniffing genius now!
